2020 has given us a stark reminder about what it means to be essential, and what it means to support one another. We are all essential to someone, be it friends, family, or our community. When New York state paused, it quickly became apparent that many of our neighbors were struggling, and seemingly in an instant we as a community stepped up to support each other.

The children and families in the care of Northern Rivers Family of Services trust us to help them with emotional, mental-health, and educational support. When the pandemic hit, they trusted us enough to ask for help with even more. Thanks to the support you gave, we were also able to deliver food and household goods in additional to educational materials. When our clients needed masks, you sewed and donated hundreds of masks for them to use. When a teenager in our waiver program needed a bike to get to school, we were able to provide him a new bike, thanks to your support.
As time goes on, we continue to see the full impact of the pandemic on our clients and families. We will always be here for those in need, and we will continue to rely on the support of the community to provide the best care.  That’s all because of you. Because you’re essential to us.
