School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) places Northern Rivers–staffed and –operated, NYS Office of Mental Health–licensed mental health clinics inside public schools. Clinicians work with children who have social, emotional, and behavioral needs so that they can be successful in school and in life.

    Northern Rivers’ Behavioral Health Services comprise a community-based system of social work and psychiatric service designed to support the diverse range of behavioral health needs for children, adults, and families, while providing opportunities for awareness, growth, empowerment, and healing. Services are provided by an interdisciplinary team comprised of master’s level social workers and mental health counselors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists.

    Northern Rivers has four behavioral health centers, which are licensed by the NYS Office of Mental Health to provide outpatient mental health treatment services to those individuals who need help managing emotional and behavioral challenges, including:

    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
    • Anxiety disorders
    • Depression and mood disorders
    • Trauma and adjustment disorders
    • Oppositional defiant disorders
    • School behavior difficulty and aggression
    • Coping with loss
    • Bullying
