Domestic Violence Training for Child Welfare Workers at SATRI
SATRI will host a Domestic Violence Training for Child Welfare Workers on Monday, November 6 and Tuesday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the SATRI building on Academy Road. There are only 25 slots available and participants must attend both days.
This training is designed to help child welfare caseworkers become more knowledgeable about domestic violence, use self-reflection in their day-to-day work, and improve their critical thinking skills. It provides a comprehensive overview of adult domestic violence, the role of child welfare in domestic violence cases, and the impact of domestic abuse on the safety of children and families. There will be opportunities for participants to assess for and respond to domestic violence, discuss safety planning with the protective parent, evaluate the effectiveness of various interventions, and review legal remedies.
If you would like to register for this two-day training, please email Sheila Frank (and cc your supervisor) at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
NOTE: This training is NOT FOR CPS WORKERS. This training is designed for Child Welfare caseworkers and supervisors in OCFS/DSS funded foster care, preventive care and voluntary agencies. This training DOES NOT satisfy the requirement for CPS worker's mandated domestic violence training.
