Alcohol & Substance Abuse Affected Families Training @ SATRI

After an outpouring of interest from staff and because of the high incidence of alcohol and substance use within families of children in our care, SATRI is excited to announce two additional offerings of our Working with Alcohol and Substance Affected Families (WASAF) workshop. Interested participants may choose to attend either Wednesday, December 6; or Tuesday, December 12; from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SATRI facility on Academy Road.

A memorial service for Sanchia Callender, a beloved member of the Children's Home team in Schenectady who passed away suddenly in August, is scheduled for Saturday, September 23, at 1 p.m., at Duanesberg Florida Baptist Church, 7967 Rt. 30, Duanesberg.

Suicide Awareness Walk in Schenectady—Join Our Team


The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s fourth-annual Schenectady Out of the Darkness Community Walk is set for Saturday, Sept. 30, starting at noon at the Pavilion in Central Park. We are participating as an event sponsor and as a community resource in the fight to prevent suicide, and are assembling a team to walk as well.
